Approaching 190k miles, Brandon's 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STI's current engine was still running fine. However, Brandon wanted to keep his WRX STI on the road for as long as possible, and still have loads of fun without the worry, so a plan was set in place to upgrade to a new short block from IAG Performance!
Performed by us:
• IAG Performance Stage 2 Tuff EJ257 short block
• TOMEI MX8265 turbocharger
• Injector Dynamics ID1050x fuel injectors
• Injector Dynamics top feed fuel rail conversion
• DeatschWerks DW300 340lph in-tank fuel pump
• IAG Performance Street Series air/oil separator
• IAG Performance V2 stainless steel oil pickup
• GrimmSpeed EBCS
• TOMEI turbo inlet
• Cusco engine & transmission mounts
• Advanced Clutch Technology HDSS clutch
• Advanced Clutch Technology Streetlite flywheel
• All the miscellaneous OEM Subaru gaskets, seals, and components to complete the installation
Pre-existing modifications:
• COBB Tuning down-pipe w/ high-flow catalytic converter
• COBB Tuning SF air-intake system
With the mechanical work wrapped up by John in the shop, Matt strapped her down to the rollers for Vlad to perform a custom calibration via COBB Tuning's Accessport V3. With 93 octane in the tank, Vlad increased the EJ257's output to 360.42awhp & 334.67lbft! Solid pump gas performance that Brandon is sure to enjoy!
